“Bad compressor” is a conclusion, not useful proof. The page should explain what the visit checks, what evidence appears on the written estimate, which failures can look similar, and what remains uncertain until a technician tests the actual system.

Separate symptoms from findings

No cooling, a tripped breaker, humming, short cycling, noise, or a hot outdoor unit can justify a service call, but none alone confirms compressor failure. Describe the electrical, control, airflow, fan, coil, and refrigerant checks used to narrow the fault.

Show the diagnostic record

Tell the customer whether the written result includes model and serial numbers, operating conditions, electrical readings, refrigerant-circuit findings, fault codes, photos, and the specific failed test. Avoid presenting a generic “compressor issue” as a complete deliverable.

Compare the whole scope
